Plan Ahead for Better Air Quality

Home for the Holidaysholidays-at-home

It may be too early in your book to start thinking about the holidays, and that’s OK. However, it’s not too early to start thinking ahead to the ways that you can prepare your home for all the wonderful gatherings that are to come. In fact, the more that you accomplish during the fall — and we’re officially there as of last week — the less you’ll have looming on your To-Do list as we near the holidays!

Clearing the Air

You’ve likely spent most of the past summer months cooped up inside, trying to stay out of the sweltering heat. We’re finally getting a break in high temps to play outdoors and maybe even crack a window or two to let in some fresh air. This is a wonderful time of year, but we know it’s limited…especially in the south!

Before it’s time to crank up the heater, get the fire going, and snuggle in with loved ones for the cooler temps of winter, consider having a heating and air conditioning contractor come out to perform an air quality evaluation for your home. Indoor air can become quite toxic due to pollutants that become trapped inside, largely due to advances in energy efficiency that have effectively sealed in the air we breathe. Given that we spend so much time indoors with that recycled air, it’s important that you regularly change air filters and look into options to clear those allergens and pollutants out of the air…and make sure they’re removed for good!

Planning ahead and calling a trusted HVAC expert now can make a tremendous difference for family members who struggle through the holidays with colds, sinus congestion, and allergies, much of which can be exacerbated by unfiltered indoor air. Give yourself the gift of improved air quality, and know that you can rest easy as you settle in for the special season ahead with your family.
